Twilight fans around the world will be shocked to hear that this year’s MTV Movie Awards has nominated The Twilight Saga Breaking Dawn – Part 1 in only two categories.
In the past Twilight, The Twilight Saga: New Moon, and The Twilight Saga: Eclipse won the 2009, 2010, and 2011 MTV Movie Awards for “Best Movie,” and Pattinson and Stewart won each year for the “Best Kiss” category as well.
The preceding Twilight movies won more nominations than Breaking Dawn – Part 1. Twilight won five awards in 2009, New Moon won six in 2010, and Eclipse won five.
According to The Hollywood Reporter MTV is giving its movie awards a bit of a facelift by adding and taking away certain categories. Some of the unchanged categories – like “Best Male Performance”, “Best Female Performance”, and “Best Fight” – which the Twilight‘s cast won in previous years are intact, but Breaking Dawn – Part 1 was not nominated for them.
